Winter Sunset In Canyon
$541.25
At 18 inches wide and 24 inches tall, this Plein Air painting captures the energy and emotion I felt while visiting the South Rim of The Grand Canyon in December of 2019. The snow had fallen yet there was a warmth and vibrancy in the air. There are little spots of color peeking through as if spring is ready to burst out of the snow. I am inspired deeply by the beauty of the canyon and it follows me back into my studio. The smells, colors, and sounds create a one of a kind sense of exhilaration that I want to bring to life on canvas. I hope that you too feel the magic that I felt standing on the south rim looking down onto the magic that is the Grand Canyon.
This piece contains spring water sourced from the Canyon that was used to alter the viscosity of some of the paint to create the feeling of motion.
This piece comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.

“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science.”

During my youth, as a budding artist, I was fascinated by contrast and color and was often seen with a sketchbook in hand. I am proud to say that as a self-taught artist I have become proficient in many different forms of media, from miniature art to full scale murals.
I love creating artwork and paintings that can convey different emotion depending on the perspective of the viewer. As a collector of fine art, you are a part of my creative process. Capturing a feeling and projecting it onto canvas is how I communicate what I am feeling into what we can both see. Contemporary art allows me more expression.
Naturally I am drawn to the extreme scale of art and paintings, and while I love to paint big and bold pictures, I hold a deep love for my miniature paintings. While my canvas paintings are like a whole conversation, my miniature art is just a quiet whisper.
Abstract art has become a liberating medium for me by allowing me to expand my creativity without any constraints or rules. Abstract art is how I push my boundaries of scale and contrast. While working on commission pieces together we can create art that shares your vision with mine.
Great paintings are pieces of art that capture your attention and draw you in. If a painting does not require you to stop and take notice, then it is not the painting for you.
Our ideas of what “great art” is, can be as different as our personalities. Buy art that you love because you are the only art critic that matters.
